Over the span of history who have been changing the world the most?
Political leaders?
Philosophers?
Scientists?
Business leaders?
Religious leaders?
If you were to make a top 20 list of most influential people in human history, what kind of people would be on it? My sense is that political leaders and business leaders have the most immediate impact, but philosophers, scientists, and religious leaders have more of a long-lasting impact.
But, on net, who wins?
Who changes the world?
The guy who discovered fire.
The guy who invented the wheel.
The guys who discovered the Americas.
Whoever invented the computer.
The guy who discovered germs.
etc.
Mostly inventors and explorers.
Who changes the world?
anyone who is willing to commit mass murder. that's the only way to get stuff done.
Any and everyone who Tries.
We have very different concepts on who changes the world. Those that you list don't change the world. They manipulate peoples lives. My list would be
Gardeners
Teachers
Parents
and those that find spiritual strength within.
You seem to have eliminated nature, which is constantly changing itself, biologically, botanically, geologically, not to mention cosmic changes in the form of meteors, sunspots, and, in the long run, complete elimination.
As some wag put it %26quot;God is not a because, but an 'in order to'%26quot;.
everyone and everything or no one and nothing.
The people collectively, political and social movements change the world and contribute to the complex processes we call history. Big changes in history such as the transition from feudalism to capitalism, had nothing to do with any individual's achievement even though individuals' actions made it happen. And again, a complex constellation of things allows individuals to for example %26quot;discover%26quot; or %26quot;invent%26quot; something. Therefore, if Columbus hadn't happened on America, for instance, someone else would have sooner or later. In fact, some Europeans had sailed to America before Columbus, but the times were not ready yet for this to have had a huge impact.
