Anyone out there looking for this? "Desiderata" something to carry in your pocket!?

%26quot;Desiderata%26quot; Go placidly amid the noise and the haste and remember what peace there my be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terma with all persons. Speak your truth clearly, and listen to others, Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself to others you may become vain and bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your career however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself, especially do not feign affection. Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perenial as the grass. Continued!

Amazing how such a stunning and simple piece of work that sets out a way of life has its origins in controversy and myth.

Max Ehrmann, the author, wrote the piece in the 1920,s and included it on a private Christmas card to friends, it was reproduced in 1959 on church note paper claiming the origin as The Old St Pauls Church AD 1692. bringing on legal suits and plagiarism claims.

Some one obviously missed the spirit of the piece entirely!
